Your timeline stays on your phone.

nmbr is built to work without a server. It records, resolves and shows your day on your iPhone, and there is no nmbr account. This page lists what the app reads, what it keeps, and the one thing it ever sends.

What nmbr reads, with your permission

• Location, to learn the places you spend time and to time your journeys. Raw positions are kept on the phone only.
• Motion, to tell walking, driving and cycling apart.
• Health (read only): sleep, workouts, steps, distance and heart rate, to fill in nights and workouts. nmbr never writes to Health. Heart rate is read when you open a night or a workout and is not copied.
• Photos (read only), to show the pictures you took during a visit. Photos are not copied or uploaded.
• Calendar (read only), to suggest who you were with.
• Microphone, only in sailing mode and only while it is on, to hear whether the boat's engine is running. Sound is recognised on the phone a second at a time and never recorded.

Each of these is optional. Say no and nmbr does less, but it still works.

What nmbr sends

Only a problem report, and only when you press Send in Settings → Report a problem. A report contains what you wrote, a screenshot if you add one, your email if you give it, and, unless you switch it off, basic details: app version, iOS version, phone model, and how tracking is set up. It never contains your locations, your timeline, your health data or your photos.

Reports and beta requests from this site are stored with Supabase in the EU (Ireland) and are read only by the nmbr team. We use them to fix nmbr and to send TestFlight invites, and delete them on request.

Beta testing

TestFlight is run by Apple. Apple shares crash reports, and any feedback you send through TestFlight, with us under Apple's privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and everything it recorded goes with it. To have a report or a beta request removed, send a note through the report form with the email you used.
